Military Situation
- The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 59 of those killed on Sunday were civilians due to clashes and the heavy shelling on the part of Assad battalions nationwide, of whom 11 civilians were martyred in Homs governorate. In addition, 21 others were martyred in Deir ez-Zor; 4 in Rif Dimashq, 7 in Aleppo, 10 in Idleb, 5 in Daraa and only one person in Latakia.

On the other hand, 28 soldiers at leastaffiliated to the Assad battalions- were killed due to clashes in Idleb, Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor and Rif Dimashq.(2)(4) - News about shooting down a helicopter affiliated to Al-Assad's battalions in the region of Tel Shehab on the Syrian-Jordanian borders that witnessed clashes between the Assad battalions and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).(4) - Al-Assad's battalions resumed shelling most districts of Deir ez-Zor city using mortar shells heavy artillery, according to activists who said also that that city is being exposed to heavy shellingthat targets anything moves- for the last two days.(2) - Local Coordination Committees described Deir ez-Zor as being war-torn city. In addition, they said that that city needs medical aid and allowing the first-aid men in after the eruption of fierce battles between the Assad battalions and the Free Syrian Army (FSA). Furthermore, activists said that Assad battalions attacked the city using tanks, heavy artillery and helicopters.(2) - A source with Deir ez-Zor hospital said that the Assad battalions removed the barriers previously created by them on the roads inside the town after they incurred heavy losses at the hands of the rebels. Internal Situation
- Sources with the Assad regime claimed that what is called "order-keeping forces in Syria" launched fierce strikes against the armed people in Deir ez-Zor, as 121 of them were killed till Sunday evening.(2) - Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) claimed that "armed terrorist groups" kidnapped in Deir ez-Zor Sheikh Abdul Qader El-Rawi, Mufti of Deir ez-Zor, adding that what it called the "bodies concerned" would chase the culprits topped by the "terrorist" Qaisser Hendawi.(4)

Political Mobility
- Rami Abdul-Rahman, director of the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, pointed out that the current week is "one of the most bloody weeks" since the eruption of the Syrian revolution against the Assad's regime, adding that the morale of the elements of the Assad regime is completely destroyed in the regions witnessing clashes.(4)

Syrian Political Stances


- Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Maqdessy described shooting down the Turkish warplane as being accident not assault, noting that that warplane was shot down in airspace over Syrian waters, as it penetrated Syrian airspace from the west on Friday at 11:40 local time (08:40 GMT).(4)(6)(7)

- The Arab Parliament called on all parliaments, international and regional organizations, especially the United Nations (UN) and the Arab League (AL) to take practical, immediate and tangible procedures for rescuing the Syrian people from what it described the escalating regime's crimes, and regime's use of heavy guns, military jets and helicopters for killing the sons of the Syrian people" that defends its freedom".

- The Turkish cabinet would convene on Monday with a view to considering the accident of shooting down the Turkish warplane by Al-Assad's forces.(3) - The Turkish newspapers hailed the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's decision on using the article 4 of the NATO charter. It is worth mentioning that that article says member countries "will consult together whenever, in the opinion of any of them, the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any of the parties is threatened."(3) - The British "Daily Star Sunday" magazine said that the British fighters are put on full alert in anticipation of launching an attack against Syria in terms of shooting down a Turkish warplane by the Syrian troops. It also added that any Turkish revengeful strike means the participation of Britain in that strike using its fighters to support its ally in the NATO.(2) - US Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton condemned Syria's downing of a Turkish fighter jet as "brazen and unacceptable" on Sunday and vowed close US cooperation with Turkey to promote a political transition in Syria. "The United States condemns this brazen and unacceptable act in the strongest possible terms," Clinton said in a statement following a conversation on Sunday with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. The shooting down of the Turkish F4 Phantom reconnaissance jet "is yet another reflection of the Syrian authorities' callous disregard for international norms, human life, and peace and security," Clinton added.

- Head of the Arab Parliament Ali Al Deqbasi said that the parliament strongly condemns the continuation of the regime's operations in" slaughtering the infants, killing women and old people and preventing providing the citizens with humanitarian aid". He also called on the UN Security Council again- to impose a no-fly zone over Syria, increase penalty against the senior officials with the regime and also announce their names to be submitted to the International Criminal Court to be brought to book for" committing crimes against humanity".(4)

International
- Turkey called for an extraordinary meeting of NATO after one of its planes was shot down by Syria in international airspace. In addition, the spokesman for the NATO said that NATO council will discuss the downed aircraft incident on Tuesday at Turkey's request.(2)(4) - Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister, said, the jet was unarmed and had been on a solo mission to test domestic radar systems, but acknowledged it had briefly crossed Syrian airspace 15 minutes before it was hit."Our plane was shot at a distance of 13 sea miles from Syrias border in international airspace, Mr. Davutoglu said. According to the radar images, our plane lost contact with headquarters after it was hit and because the pilot lost control, it crashed into Syrian waters after making abnormal movements, he said. Throughout this entire period no warning was made to our plane. He said.(2)(3) - Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister, said rescue teams were still searching for the two missing pilots. He said the search operations were being carried out in coordination with Syrian efforts but could not be described as "joint".

- British Foreign Secretary William Hague said I am gravely concerned by the Syrian regimes action in shooting down a Turkish military plane on 22 June. When I spoke to Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu on 23 June, he told me that the plane had been shot down without warning. "This outrageous act underlines how far beyond accepted behavior the Syrian regime has put itself and I condemn it wholeheartedly. My thoughts and sympathies are with the families and friends of the missing Turkish pilots. I have made clear to Foreign Minister Davutoglu the UK's strong support for the Turkish government at this difficult time. "The Assad regime should not make the mistake of believing that it can act with impunity. It will be held to account for its behavior. The UK stands ready to pursue robust action at the United Nations Security Council.(2)(4)

- Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister, said that he intends to discuss the Turkish stance before the UN Security Council.
