Name of process Hypotesis

Idea Berko aimed to see whether children possess morphological rules that can be applied to newly acquired words. A total of 56 children aged from 4 to 7 were chosenfrom two schools. a number of nonsense word were created in the event of ambiguity, the answer was compared to those given by adults if the children knew the correct morphological rules,would the child be able to use this existing knowledge and apply it to nonsense word. the thesis take children for example because wants to know the effect of morphological rules for the children. the nonsense word accompanied by a picture of what the word was supposed to represent. to insure the subjects were familiar with the phonological rules, words that convey meaning, such as glasses and melted included the test. the results are show the level of learned the student for morphological rules the dominant of the children know about the phonological rules and understanding it. the older children have more knowledge before the younger and the older children more understanding than the young children. the school must used different teacher(native speaker) for the different level age of children.

for the plural inflexion of wug 97% of first graders answered correctly. the results showed that children of this range do posses phological rules the older childrens answers were slightly better than the younger one. a true representation of the native speaking population in the required age range could be used.
