    THE LABOURS OF HERCULES LERNEAN HYDRA MONSTER

    Hydra was a monster which lived in the swamps. It was the son of Echidna and Typhon. The Hydra had the body of a serpent and many heads that no weapon could kill.

    If any of the heads was cut, two would grow in its place. Also a bad smell from the Hydras breath was enough to kill man or beast.

    When it got out of the swamps, it used to eat local villagers and animals. It totally scared the town.

    . Heracles went to the swamps

    and he took his nephew Iolaus to find the teriffying Hydra.

    Hercules drew the monster out of its hole with flaming arrows. This brought out the beast and he attacked the monster Hydra.
