One day, a king announced there would a contest. Botosel wanted to go as well.

So, he asked for permission from his father and set off for the castle. On his way, he ran into a snake attacking a girl. When he was about to cut the snakes head, it disappeared. Further on, he came across

six wolves. Botosel used his sword to kill five of them, but
the last one escaped.

On he went and saw a fire and an old man. That man was
supposed to guard the fire for three days and three nights, but Botosel insisted that he do that, so the old man could take some rest. On his first night, a fairy came and wanted to give him a bow and arrows but he refused her. On his second night, a man came to distract him, but

Botosel chased him away.

On his third night, a group of people came to bring him food. Again he chased them away. When he finally got to the castle, he met the emperor who was no other than the old man, the group of thieves were the kings men and the girl was the emperors daughter whom he married.
