Lower School Homework

Philosophy We realize that creating a school-home connection is important to school success. Therefore, thoughtful home engagement that scaffolds student learning is something we support. We are mindful that in order for children to be fully invested in their learning at school, they need time to unwind, play, develop outside interests, spend time with their families, and get a good nights sleep. The following homework guidelines have been developed to allow families some flexibility in creating a homework schedule that enhances their family life. Guidelines Reading and math logs will continue to emphasize students developing personal goal setting skills; these goals will be initiated through a teacher/student partnership. Teachers will provide options for reinforcement and enrichment. Students will prepare for all tests and quizzes.
