Introduction
When try to create a sales order in SAP AFS with multiple ship to parties, I am getting below error
message.
Top node XXXX for ship-to YYYY not maintained or ship-to is not valid
Message no. 8W321
Eg:

Message Details:

But when I check my customer master (Sold to party) "A300", I can see the ship to party "A100" is
assigned as Ship to party. But still in the sales order screen I cannot assign "A100" as the ship to party.


Reason
This is a standard behavior in SAP AFS due to an additional check introduced by SAP for AFS.

How to overcome this error message?
If you want to use "A100" as a ship to party for sold to party "A300", you need to do below.
Go to your ship to party - A100
Under partner function tab add the Partner function "JS" and maintain the relevant sold to party
(A300) as the partner number

Now you should be able to add the "A100" ship to party together with the sold to party "A300" in one
sales order



How can I remove this additional check from my SAP system?
If you do not want to have this AFS additional check, do below.
Go to transaction SM30
Enter table "J_3ACUPA" and press the button

Enter same table in the popup and press Enter key

System will give the below view "J_3ACUPA_V"

Click on the button
Delete the record which contain "JS" as Function using button

Save the table
Now you should be able to create a sales order without having "JS' partner function in your ship
to party.
