1. The standard we are covering is SSCG9. 2. Three types of Congressional powers are expressed, implied, and nonlegislative. 3. Expressed powers are those delegated powers of the National Government that are spelled out in the Constitution. 4. Three examples of expressed powers are collecting taxes, declaring war, and coining money. 5. Implied powers are those delegated powers of the National Government that are suggested by the expressed powers set out in the Constitution. 6. Impeachment is an example of a nonlegislative power. 7. Impeach means to accuse government officials of wrongdoing. 8. The impeachment process begins in the House of Representatives. 9. The Senate acts as jury in the impeachment trial of the President. 10. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court acts as judge in the impeachment trial of the President. 11. Bill Clinton and Andrew Johnson are the only two President who have been impeached.
