What is an electronic file?

A set of information stored within a single name.


What is an electronic folder?

A place (in any storage location) where you can store multiple items such as files and other folders.

Why Create Electronic Folders


Why create folders? Folders are important because they help you stay organized. Think of electronic folders the same as you think of folders in your filing cabinet. May want to create a folder within a foldersubfolder. Be sure to use a descriptive name in order to help identify the contents How to create a folder? There are multiple ways; however, the quickest way is to right-click any blank area.

What does it mean to copy files and folders?


What does it mean to copy files and/or folders? Files and folders are duplicated from one location to another in order to have multiple versions of the same item available. What happens to the original when it is copied? It does not delete the original; instead, it places a duplicate in other location.
