The Field Situation
- 22 persons were martyred, most of them in Homs, Idleb and Rif Dimashq in spite of the fact that the ceasefire decision came into effect.(9) - Syrians demonstrated in most regions of Syria responding to the Syrian National Council (SNC)'s calls made immediately after the implementation of the ceasefire decision.(1) trust him or even his promises, calling on the Syrians to demonstrate in all Syrian regions to deliver a massage to the regime to the effect that the Syrian people do not want such a regime to resume even if they backed Annan's plan.

Political Stances Syria


- Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Maqdessy asserted that Al-Assad regime is generally stick to the success of the United Nations (UN) and Arab League's Joint Special Envoy for Syria Kofi Annan's plan as long as the other party is also stick to that plan.(1) - Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem told the UN Security Council that Al-Assad's regime is ready to resume discussions with Annan's team to form the bases of the task of the United Nations' monitors.(2)

The Military Situation


- Activists monitored 12 violations of ceasefire decision at the hands of Al-Assad's battalions in Zabadani in Rif Dimashq, Shapo Shah Mountain, Safsafa in Hama, Idleb, outskirts of Aleppo city, near the archeological citadel, Homs and Al-Nema district, Daraa.(1) - The governmental army randomly shot people in Atareb city, Aleppo countryside using heavy machine guns and also targeted anybody moves there.(9) - The security forces shot people in a funeral in Aleppo and also shot demonstrators in Al-Malikiyah in Aleppo countryside, Al-Bukamal and Deir ez-Zor, in addition to that they arrested many people in Izra' and Jasim in Daraa governorate.(9) - Burst of machine-gun fire was heard at 07:00 am after ceasefire decision came into effect in Sirghaya town near the Syrian-Lebanese borders. Moreover, the governmental forces- existed in the western Rif Dimashq- did not return to their barracks.(9) - Deputy Head of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) asserts that the forces affiliated to Al-Assad's regime violated the truce in Latakia, Homs, Idleb, Zabadani in Rif Dimashq. International
- The United Nations (UN) and Arab League's Joint Special Envoy for Syria Kofi Annan told the UN Security Council that Damascus did not completely abide by his plan or even the ceasefire decision that came into effect on Thursday morning, adding that the frail truce in Syria needs to be backed.(1)(2)(9)(11)(12)(13)(14)(15) - The French Foreign Minister Allen Juppe announced that France has evidences for committing crimes against humanity at the hands of Al-Assad's regime that might be referred to the international judiciary.(3)(8)(9) - US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that AlAssad's regime has to implement the whole 6 points of Annan's plan, as it would not be able to choose what it wants and disregards what it does not want.(1)(2)(8)(9) - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Syrian regime did not abide by the ceasefire decision or even Annan's plan, stressing the importance of withdrawing all tanks from the Syrian cities with a view to restoring confidence among the Syrians, as he put it. Furthermore, he said that Ankara might ask the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to protect its borders with Syria following the gunfire committed by the Syrian security forces against a camp inside the Turkish lands.(1)(4)(9)(12) - The British Prime Minister David Cameron urges Russia and China to join the world to tighten the grip on the Syrian regime to completely implement the ceasefire decision. Political Mobility
- Burhan Ghalioun, head of the Syrian National Council (SNC), called on the Syrians to demonstrate following the implementation of the ceasefire decision in Syria. He also called on the states backing Annan's plan to ensure means of protection for anti-regime demonstrations.
