C
hanges to the 2003 International Building Code (I.B.C.) have
created the need for post-installed anchors that perform in
cracked concrete. These anchors are designed to function in
the event that the concrete base material cracks right through the
WEDGE ANCHOR location where the anchor is installed. There are significant
differences in the anchor design and performance characteristics.
T
he Strong-Bolt™ is Simpson’s first product for cracked concrete anchorage. It looks and installs
like a standard wedge anchor, yet performs very differently. These performance differences allow
it to perform in cracked concrete and meet the requirements of the new building code.
