Advertisement Applications are invited for the following posts: Project Consultant and Research Officer (RO) for

a project which will commence in the School of Habitat Studies. Brief details about project, job contents, and expected profile for each post are given below. Project in Brief: School of Habitat Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences is in the process of establishing Center for Regulatory Governance The Center will take up diverse activities including: Teaching and Training Programs, Research Projects, Extension Activities, Organization of Workshops, Seminars, and Roundtables. The center will also develop 'Portal on Regulatory Governance in India'. Project Consultant (PC) PC will provide substantial support on substantive as well as strategic matters to the senior faculty involved in development of the Center for Regulatory Governance in School of Habitat Studies. He is expected to supervise / add value to the research products to be prepared by the Research Office. In addition, PC will be fully responsible for co-ordination with the agencies, institutions, and individuals involved . Relevant Academic Background: Minimum second class in Post Graduation in Engineering / Social Sciences/ Social work/ Management or equivalent. Work on the infrastructure sectors and/or regulatory issues at the degree level is preferred. Necessary Experience: At least 2 to 3 years experience in research or consultancy organization, academic institution, or civil society organization An experience in analysis and advocacy on governance and policy issues will be given high weightage. Fluency in oral and written English is must. Necessary Computer Skills: (a) Speed and accuracy in all MS office equivalent packages as also Internet browsing, (b) basic knowledge of management and development of websites. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Research Officer (RO): RO will be primarily involved in literature survey, identifying and preparing extracts from the relevant sources and preparation of all basic documents. RO is expected to be well read and keep abreast of all the developments taking place in the area of policy and governance reform in the country. RO will also be involved in visits to offices of relevant Ministries of Central and State governments, Municipal Corporations/ Councils and Institutions, Civil Society Organizations working on urban issues. Relevant Academic Background: Minimum second class in Graduation in Engineering / Social Sciences/ Social work/ Management or equivalent.

Relevant and Adequate Experience: Preferably 1 to 2 years in research institution, academic institution or civil society organization and keen interest in urban issues. Fluency in oral and written English is must. Computer Skills: Speed and accuracy in all MS office equivalent packages as also Internet browsing. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
