Engage Assess
Because Active Learning is a personal experience Students are provided with a study plan that is
designed specifically for them.
o o
Students take a pre-test after reading the assigned chapter before they come to class This assignment accomplishes several things:
-
-Students read before they come to class -Student attendance increases because they are looking for lecture reinforcement -Participation improves because students have read before they came to class
That the pre-test is automatically graded and creates a study plan that is unique to the learner The study plan scaffolds the content by providing concepts that require thinking that is less complex at first like remembering or understanding moves into more complex critical thinking as the learner becomes more accomplished such as applying and analyzing (closely aligning the study plan with RBT)
Provides
resources for students to review concepts that are not mastered After reviewing the resources the student takes a formative quiz
quizzes feed directly into the gradebook giving the student immediate feedback (students can review each question) Underneath incorrect questions is a feedback box providing additional resources, which provides yet another layer to the assessment and another way for students to interact with concepts(Promotes better critical thinking skills)
Every MyLab has an E-Text that can be accessed online or downloaded to a tablet
Powerful visuals for the visual learner Listening online with chapter audio for the auditory learner Learning applications that engage students to interact with the content for the kinesthetic learner
Online Experiments
Enhances comprehension of concepts for students Simple to assign Provides differentiation of instruction to support visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners.
Multi-Media Library
Connects content for visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners through a variety of videos, and simulations Further reinforcement of concepts and content giving students multiple methods to access information Each chapter offers an average of 5-6 different opportunities for students to interact with the content.
