I. To Prepare Students for successful careers in industry that meet the needs of Indian and Multinational Companies.

II. To facilitate the students to have sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals. III. To provide ample opportunities to inculcate the ability to design analog and digital systems, electronic circuits etc.,

IV. To strengthen the ability of the students to cope with multidisciplinary task and ability to communicate
effectively both in verbal and written forms and also to introduce them the professional ethics attitudes.

37

V. To create awareness on the contemporary issues which help the students to participate in competitive examinations Course Objectives: ELECTRIC CIRCUITS & ELECTRON DEVICES At the end of the course, the student should understand the basic principles of Electric circuits and electron devices. The students should be able to apply theorems (Kirchhoff laws, super position theorem and Nortons theorem) to circuits and analyze the voltage and current parameters. The students also acquire the basic knowledge of electron devices like Diodes, Transistors, SCR and TRIAC. Contribution to Outcomes: By using this course lectures, assignment tests and lab experiments the students are able to: (i) demonstrate the basic idea of electric circuits by different theorems and to analyze voltage, current and resistor parameters. (ii) To measure the various parameters of the basic devices like PN Junction Diode, BJT, FET, UJT, etc. Students are able to design and develop circuits relevant to these and they are able to solve the complicated circuits. Course Objectives: Communication system The main objectives of this course is to enable the students to have the basic idea about the Amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, communication circuits and noise limiters which will be used for high end applications. Outcomes: By using the class lectures, tests and lab experiments the students are able to analyze the modulation and demodulation circuits, coding circuits, noise limiter to apply these concepts to innovative ideas.
