BRIEF DESCRIPTION

TEMPERATOR SENSOR  The methods of temperature measurement may be divided into two main classes according as the exchange of heat between the testing body and the hot system 1. contact methods 2. non-contact methods


RTD type device is selected for measuring the temperature.

TEMPERATURE MEASURING BLOCK



The instrumentation amplifiers job is to provide a high-level signal-ended input for an ADC by amplifying the desired differential mode signal and rejecting the common-mode signal.

ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER



This analog to digital converter (ADC) converts a continuous analog input signal, into an n-bit binary number, which is easily acceptable to a computer. An actual converter has integral linearity and differential linearity errors

CLOCK GENERATOR

The frequency can be adjusted using external resistor and capacitor.  The required frequency is more than 100KHz.


MICRO-CONTROLLER


Micro-controllers are "embedded" inside some other device so that they can control the features or actions of the product . The ATMEL AT89C51 is a low power, higher performance CMOS 8-bit microcomputer with 4K bytes of flash programmable and erasable read only memory (PEROM).

OPTO ISOLATOR


This device is very simple. It consists of a phototransistor and a LED inside the same package . Depending up on the room temperature, the microcontroller generates pulses at variable duty cycle, and these pulses are fed to TRAIC gate through this opto coupler. In this project work this device is used for protecting the microcontroller burning due to the high voltage harmonics produced by the TRIAC .

TRIAC The TRIAC is similar to the SCR, only the difference is that the TRIAC allows the voltage in both the directions.  Transient pulses or uncontrolled line voltage spikes must also be limited in order to avoid in controller triggering of a TRIAC.


LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

This is a 16 character x 2Line LCD module, capable of display numbers, characters, and graphics.  The display contains two internal byte-wide registers, one for commands (RS=0) and the second for characters to be displayed (RS=1).
