The story Sound of Thunder talks about how even having a time machine nobody is sure of what the future can hold. Many people are scared of the future for they are afraid of the unknown. The world lives in a place of harmony and balance and it has survived for millions of years. Now humans are destroying this balance by causing mass extinction, lack of resources which can influence warfare, politics and the fate of Earth. The story A Sound of Thunder talks about the importance of even the smallest animal. The characters in the story describe a domino effect the extinction of one species could have on the future. The death of a butterfly impacted the outcome of a presidential election. Thus any disturbance on the environment could have unpredictable influences. It makes you reflect on everyday things that we do and what an impact it can have. For example throwing a piece of paper in the street can have an even bigger aftermath later on. Even though we cant travel back in time we still are influencing the future.
