OBJECTIVES
To develop a model of employee empowerment To understand the existing organisation culture of the automobile industries To analyse in detail the components of empowerment To list out the benefits of empowerment

MEANING
Process of enabling or authorizing an individual to think, behave, take action and control work and decision making in autonomous ways. It is the state of feeling self-empowered to take control of one s own destiny.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Empowerment has been described as a venue to enable employees make decisions (bowen&lawler,1992) and as a personal experience where individuals take responsibility for their own actions(pastor,1996).earlier research focused on empowerment as a set of management practices to delegate authority (discretionary empowerment)(blau & alba, 1982), recent research centered on psychological empowerment focusing on employee experience(corsun & enz,1999).

LIMITATIONS
Mindset- empowering is not one empowering on the other, the individual should enable himself to take action & control work & decision making in autonomous ways.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Sample size 500 Instrument design to frame the questionnaire in consultation with guide and experts. Data Collection method primary and secondary data. Research design descriptive.

Sample selection respondents will be employees from automobile industry. Questions Open-ended and Closed-ended questions. Scaling technique Likert scale. Analysis tools Chi-square, Anova & Correlation.
