I, Adish Katkar, Founder and Senior Software Engineer at iStream Technologies, Pune and have known Mr. Gaurav Bora for one year as an Intern in our company. iStream Technologies is a product development startup working in the virtualization space and provides cloud computing solution. I was associated with him as the external project guide for his final year project. The project undertaken by him had a very practical theme. He along with his team developed the Cloud Storage Stack. The Stack was developed on Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and was programmed completely in Java. The project required him to be adept at problem solving and have sound technical skills. I would gladly agree that Gaurav lived up to our expectations and was a keen and an ideal apprentice. The thing that galvanizes me the most about him is his analytical ability and the out of box thinking. It helped him to expound his assignments with a subtle view of understanding. He was always looking for some new and innovative ways to do familiar tasks and enjoyed the brain storming sessions. He thereby acquired the leading role in the project and led his team to successful completion of the same. His team-spirit and his cordial relations with his team members are highly commendable. He carried an air of inquisitiveness around him which kept him open to learning, and updated with latest advancements and developments in his fields of interest. He was very regular and punctual in submitting his assignments. He used to clarify and discuss project related doubts with me. His acute interest in knowing updates in this field showcased his interest in Computer Networks. A good listener, effective communication skills and the determination to succeed, Gaurav bears such qualities which have never failed to impress me. His ability in the subjects like Distributed Systems and Databases has proved that he will be an effective professional in the field of Computer science. I believe he must be given an opportunity to explore further, the world of Computer Science, for there lies his interest and he is capable of proving himself. I think that his zeal for learning, perseverance and his industriousness amply qualify him for graduate studies.
