GUIDELINES/CRITERIA 1. Content (20%) a. Relevance of content Information should be appropriate depending on the type of website. b. Accuracy of content Create a useful, information-rich site, and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content. Make sure that your <title> elements and ALT attributes are descriptive and accurate. c. Correct spelling and grammar d. Good use of content chunking: The method of presenting information which splits concepts into small pieces or "chunks" of information to make reading and understanding faster and easier. 2. Aesthetics (20%) a. Visual appeal and style (color, contrast, fonts, white space) b. Consistent look and feel c. Readability d. Minimalist design (avoid extraneous/unnecessary information) 3. Design (20%) a. Effective navigation and working links b. Effective use of multimedia content (images, audio, video, animation, etc.) Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link. Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number Try to use text instead of images to display important names, content, or links. If you use images for textual content, consider using the "ALT" attribute to include a few words of descriptive text. Avoid embedding audio files to the web sites subpages. 4. Usability and Accessibility (15%) a. Written in users language b. Minimize required user actions 5. Oral presentation on the website upon submission and should be uploaded to a free hosting site (25%). 6. The default/home page filename is index.html .
