Feed Additive for the

Deactivation of Mycotoxins
Dr.Kedar Karki
Problem definition

• The following characteristics point out a fungoid infection

of feed or grain:
• A musty, earthy or piercing smell
• Discoloring (in case of Fusarium: orange to grey)
• Formation of bridges and lumps
• Infestation of insects
An infestation of grain with fungi doesn’t always mean
that mycotoxins are formed.
A laboratory specialized in mycotoxin analyses will
determine whether seeds or mixed feed are
contaminated.
Problem solution

• Depending on the concentration of toxins

present in the feed or the severity of the
existing symptoms, Toxinbinders are
added to the feed in the recommended
quantity.
It is important that the absorbent is mixed
into the feed homogeneously.
Protect pigs, poultry, cattle and
horses from:
• Feed refusal
• Vomiting / diarrhea
• Decreased performance
• Suppression of the immune system
• Reproductive disorders
• Damaging of organs
It is a proven fact that toxin binders do not have
any negative effects on the animal’s
supply of vitamins and trace elements.
