A school is a place established for people where they get the basic knowledge and education in different fields

under the super vision of qualified teachers. There are two kinds of schooling systems, the formal and the informal schooling system. Both formal and informal education is famous these days but people are going more towards receiving the formal education for a better livelihood . It can be said that schooling is as old as the birth of man. Adam was also guided by God about universe . The first school dates back to ancient Greece to Platos school of Philosophy founded approximately 385 BC. Since then up till today schools are being established and are still establishing followed by education in ancient Rome, ancient India and ancient china. Later education in the ancient Rome influenced on the development of educational system throughout the western civilizations. Rome in the beginning practiced informal system of education and later found its final form and formal schools were then established. Next schooling system that arose was the Indian schools in the form of Gurukuls which were traditional schools typically the teachers house or monastry.

The history of education in China began with the birth of Chinese civilization. One of the famous school of that era was Confucianism founded by Confucius. Later by 1066 CE Islam was another culture that also developed a school system whose emphasis was put on knowledge. Maddarsa were also established. In the light of above we can conclude that schooling systems are there since the beginning of civilizations. Since then their establishment is on surge. I personally feel that the first schooling of a child begins in the lap of mother.
