FILIPINO BELIEFS, CONVICTIONS, and ATTITUDES

Convictions- fixed or
strong belief.

-The act or process of convincing.

Belief- mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, or validity of something.

Attitude-

A state of mind or a feeling, disposition an attitude of open hostility.

Beliefs

Interprits success or failure Health or Sickness Life or Death A good or Bad Harvest are basis of the Supernatural and a trust and reliance on a divine providence.

Attitude

Bahala na or Malas and Swerte mentality. He approach to truth is intuitive rather than rational or scientific.

The Filipino conceives success as due more to swerte, fate, Gods mercy or panalangin, or the help of others, thus he consider success as undeserved and cannot be claim entirely for himself but shares it and its fruits with others.

A poor harvest is not due so much to poor irrigation or poor seed, As to bad lack or GABA. The Filipino thus learns to submit to uncertainty, To take a bahala na Attitude, and To develop traits of resignation, patience and pagtitiis (endurance).
