SBC Yahoo! Mail - dapprdan@prodigy.net Page 2 of 3 very vocal and proactive, but when you were asked to stand up for your DECA constituents by making sure their chances for employment were not being endangered; you were anything but outspoken and hands-on. It appears that your main focus is just “talking the talk” on imagined corruption, not “walking the walk” on corruption that is actually taking place. rt also appears that our newly elected Milwaukee County Executive - Scott Walker has a similar lack of desire/ability to “walking the walk” when it comes to dealing with corruption. The reason I say that is because; although County Executive Walker’s campaign literatuze claimed tha “I want to bring the actions of county government out into the open. By shining a light on county government, we will take away the hiding places so this sort of corruption can’t happen again.” a letter I received (from his Director of Operations - Mr. Timothy Russell - dated June 3, 2002), after T had asked for the County Executive's help in exposing and fixing the corruption in the DECA Program, stated thai “I do not, at this time, find any specific actions that I can take in regard to your case and the allegations of a ‘cover-up’ that you make.” That letter, from The County Executive's office, showed me that although Scott Walker's literature claimed he was in touch with the citizen's need for change in county government; all he was doing was engaging in the “same old ~ same old” campaign rhetoric that is prevalent whenever a person runs for a position of power and/or influence here in Milwaukee County. Even-though I had provided County Executive Walker's office with ninety-nine pages (along with a CD containing four voice-mail messages) of evidence of “actions of county government”, that appeared to be “corrupt”, he decided to not “shine a light” on them and by doing so; continued to keep them “hidden.” County Executive Scott Walker missed an opportunity to give the Citizens of Milwaukee County the kind of “reform” and “good government” he was put in office to provide. It has become very apparent to me that both you and Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker still have not learned anything from former County Executive Tom Ament’s prophetic campaign slogan “actions speak louder than words.” Maybe, you both will learn that important lesson, when and if you ever recognize the wisdom in exposing all of the circumstances 060902.htm 6/27/2006
