Olympics & Economy

Thanks to the successful bidding for the 2008 Olympics Games, Beijing is expected to experience an accerated
development in the next several years.

First, the urban construction is to be upgraded and environmental protection to be strengthened, which, doutlessly,
will make our life more comfortable and enjoyable. It won't be long before we have more parks in the communities
and more modern telephone booths along the streets.

Second, citizens will have more advanced sports centers, gymnasiums and stadiums. Most of the sports complexes
we have currently will be renovated or enlarged. Besides, special buidlings and roads are being budgeted in the
blue print. Definitely, the well-designed facilities are to offer us modern venues for appreciating sports events and
a more efficient life in the near future.

Most importantly, tourism will benefit a lot from this unique occasion and our national economy will be dramatically
boosted as well. Many economists anticipate an estimated net income of more than 10 billion US dollars from this
international sports assembly, which, hopefully, could improve Chinese GDP growth rate by another percent.

No wonder, looking forward to the coming Games eargerly and earnestly, Chinese people are waiting for a
successful Olympics in Beijing and a booming economy in China.
