What makes feminist research uniquely feminist are the motives, concerns and knowledge brought to the research process. "Feminism is: (a) a belief that women universally face some form of oppression or exploitation; (b) a commitment to uncover and understand what causes and sustains oppression, in all its forms and (c) a commitment to work individually and collectively in everyday life to end all forms of oppression

Feminist Research is one of four action oriented research methods. It claims to be neither quantitative nor qualitative. Dealing with questions: Promoting feminist agenda or academically challenging existing social, political and economic paradigms? Researching for the women or about the women?
