To learn basic science concepts, apply creative thinking, and use reading, writing and math skills to succeed in 7th grade science with Mrs. Ostmann.

Hypothesis/Team Rules:
Each student will enjoy his or her experience, learn, and be successful given that the Kodiak BEARSS philosophy is followed

1. Be responsible for your own learning. 2. Exhibit your best effort. 3. Ask questions. 4. Respect others and you will be respected. 5. Speak studiously. 6. Stay up to date.
Discipline Plan: 1. Teach Students Classroom rules and procedures. 2. Verbal reminder/re-direction 3. Warning 4. Student Conference 5. Parent Conference request 6. Team Conference 7. Referral to office Required Materials:
1. 3-ring 1 view binder: any color with plastic cover for title page 2. 3-ring Tab Dividers: insertable tab dividers, pkg. 8 3. Loose leaf paper: College ruled, pkg. 200 sheets 4. Pencils: Must bring a pencil everyday (mechanical or #2) 5. Pens: Must bring a pen everyday (blue or black) 6. Colored pencils: small package (6-12)

Procedure: Step 1: Everyday


1. Turn in your homework. 2. Retrieve your binder. 3. Sit in your assigned seat. 4. Begin silent warm-up. 1

Step 4: Exercise responsibility


WHEN ABSENT:
Retrieve missed work from appropriate pocket folder in classroom. Speak with teacher after/before class to discuss work. Complete work in as many days as you were absent. Turn in your work your class homework pocket folder in classroom. Missed tests will be made up after school. Schedule with teacher.

WHEN WORK IS MISSED:


Late work will receive a 10% reduction for each day it is late.

WHEN TEST PERFORMANCE IS BELOW A 70:


Take test home, correct all missed questions. Provide an explanation of why your original answer is incorrect. Corrections must be typed using a word processor. Corrections are due 2 days after the test is handed back to the class. Staple correction to test and turn in Mrs. Ostmanns inbox. Completion of test correction will raise your grade to a 76%.

Results: Each student at the end of the year will be able to:

Conclusion: I will do well in this class because I know what is expected of me and that Mrs.
Ostmann is always available for help when I feel I need it, and even when I dont think I need it.
