Alternative Theories

There are many alternative theories such as the Big Bounce Theory, Cyclic Universe Theory or the famed Steady State Theory that competed with the Big Bang when the big bang theory first came to light.

Steady State Theory claims that the universe had no beginning, but it created new matter as older galaxies moved apart. Although, discovery of the CMB (Cosmic Microwave Background radiation) had made the downfall of the Steady State, although Hoyle maintained that the background radiation could have originated without a Big Bang.

The Big Bounce Theory states that there was something before the Big Bang and that another Universe Had a Big Crunch and then bounced back to form this Universe!

The Cyclic Universe Theory is where a cyclic universe explodes into existence in a Big Bang, and crunches out of existence over andover again in an endless cycle, a bit like the Big Bounce Theory.

Evidence for the Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory has a few pieces of very strong evidence. First of there is red shift and the Doppler Effect and microwaves. There are some other pieces of evidence as well such as Hubble s Law .

Red Shift is where a light seeming to be coming from an object is increased in wavelength. Or shifted to the red end of the spectrum! (This generally happens when something is past or nearly at the speed of light!)

Doppler Effect is the change in frequency of a wave for a person moving relative to the source of sound or wave! Often heard when a car drives past whilst their horn is on!

The big bang Theory!

Basedon the best available measurements as of 2010, the original state of the universe existed around 13.7 billion years ago!

This model shows that the big bang came from a very hot dense state and then started to expand and still does today!

This theory today is considered the most reliable and scientifically logical!

After its initial appearance, it apparently inflated (otherwise known as the "Big Bang"), expanded and cooled, going from very small and very, very hot, to the size and temperature of our current universe.

If the distance between galaxy clusters is increasing today, everything must have been closer together in the past!

Together with several hundred billion other stars in a galaxy soaring through the cosmos, all of which is inside of an expanding universe that started off as a tiny singularity which appeared out of nowhere for reasons unknown. This is the Big Bang theory.
