This project is a research study which was conducted to know about the Recruitment and Selection of the employees at Reliance Retail Ltd. The main objective of this project is to know about the impact of recruitment and selection programme which was followed by the company.

RELIANCE RETAIL LIMITED: A world class shopping environment Goals: Competitive offerings to Indian consumers for household consumption. Aiming to touch every customers and suppliers.

The reliance retail limited consists of 4 units.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: To find the impact of recruitment and selection programmes To identify various factors influence in recruitment and selection process. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: Attract and encourage more and more candidates to apply in the organisation.

According to Edwin B. Flippo, Recruitment is the process of searching the candidates for employment and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organisation. Selection may be defined as the process by which the organisation chooses from among the applicants, those people whom they feel would best meet the job requirement

This section contains a team of members working in picking up the candidate by various evaluation methods. RPAT test(retail personnel assessment test) Personal Interviews(2 to 3 rounds depending upon the position) This section contains 8 members headed by 1 AGM (ASST. General Manager) These 8 members are responsible to call the candidate for interview for different positions at Reliance fresh stores at various outlets at Chennai.

This section contains a team of 10 members taking care of all post recruitment activities. Post recruitment which is called as HR Services here at RRL,  Joining formalities,  Creation of bank accounts,  ESI nominations,  PF,  Medical checkups,  Attendance tracking,  Identity card maintenance,  Maintenance SAP entries.

According to REDMAN & MORY Research is defined as a Systemized effort to gain new knowledge.

Data collection: There are two types of data (i.e.) the primary data and the secondary data and for this study both are considered. Primary data: For this study, primary data has been used. It is the data which is the first hand information and the clear on the original information collected from the employees in the headoffice and stores in reliance fresh be circulation questionnaires.

In this type of research I have used the descriptive research to find and analysis the recruitment and selection process in Reliance Retail Limited.

 

100% of the respondents have attended the medical test. 100% of the respondents working for fulltime. 80% of the respondents have not down written test for selection.

Company should follow more than two rounds for effective recruitment and selection. Company must prefer candidates for part time job also. Company should conduct written test for recruiting the candidate.

Recruitment and selection is the most important of human resource development. The increase in competition increases the significant of recruitment. Therefore employee recruitment and selection must be an important part of any organizations HR polices.
