Blitz Manual

The purpose of this manual is to further strengthen the relationship between the newspaper and Own Local. In order to provide a smooth transition into our products, we want to provide basic directory and SEO training, sales tips and tricks, sales processes and supplemental sales material that will help us form a winning partnership. This manual is proprietary information of Own Local and is not only the next step in our partnership, but a reference guide.

1) What We Need from You as a Partner


1. What We Need to Set Up the Directory a. Site Title b. Domain Name for the directory (typically directory.thenewspapername.com) c. City and State d. Date the directory needs to be ready e. Contact info for the person who manages the website/domain or direct access to the domain (via username and password for the companys domain manager) f. IMPORTANT: It takes a solid couple of days for a directory to populate with businesses, so its best to have the directory deployed at least one week before the launch. 2. What We Need for the Blitz a. Preference on our support phone number for your clients (would you prefer a local area code or a 1-800 number?) b. Print Ads, Flyers, and online ads 0 30 days before our blitz c. Logos that we can use for your customers websites and directory contracts d. Appointment/availability calendar e. A list of business contacts with phone numbers from each rep (our sales team will help book appointments for the reps and confirm appointments for the blitz) For best results: Allow 45 minutes to an hour for each appointment, and schedule the appointment location at the newspaper!

2) Familiarity with the Marketplace Directory


1. How businesses can add themselves to the directory for free a. Click on the Add Your Business in the upper right hand corner b. Fill in the information on the three pages and hit finish

2. How to add a listing if you have admin access a. Click on Sign In at the top right corner and enter your Login and Password b. Select the Businesses tab, then the New Businesses tab c. Fill in the information and change the Featured level box to the correct package d. Click create

3. How to edit a listing if you have admin access a. Do a search for the business and select it b. Click the Edit Business button c. Click the Admin tab at the top d. Change the Featured level box to the appropriate number and add extra keywords regarding their business if necessary e. Click Update Listing

3) SEO Training
How do websites appear at the top of the search results? Google describes PageRank: PageRank reflects our view of the importance of web pages by considering more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results. PageRank is a scale of importance: ranging from 0-10 When you increase your PageRank by 1, it is 10 times more important; when you increase your PageRank by 2, it is 100 times more important

APPOINTMENT CHECKLIST

How would that help you? o If we could bring you one client through your website, how much would that be worth to you? Try to locate their business website using their keywords on Google Use SEO Quake to identify the websites PageRank o If you are on a clients computer, go to http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php and type in their domain name.

Explain the importance of page rank to the business owner: o PageRank is a scale of importance: ranging from 0-10. With a ranking of 0, your site is at the lowest on Googles list of importance. 10 is the best in the world. With each number you move up the scale, you become 10 times more important. So if you increase your PageRank by 1, it is 10 times more important; when you increase your PageRank by 2, it is 100 times more important. There are only around 10 websites in the world with a PageRank of 10we need to get your website between a 3 and a 5.

Identify the keywords that the business should be focusing on for their website by using Google Adwords See if the business is coming up on Google under those keywords and identify which of their competitors are showing up Use the Online Needs Analysis check-list to complete the consultation o Cover at least the keywords, the importance of links and content changes to their website, and the first section from Page Title to SEO Content o You may only need to cover the first ten points before the customer understands the value in what we can do Discuss the product levels and prices (See contract for pricing details on page 8) MAKE THEM COMMIT TO SOMETHING!!! Photos - Photos of you, your staff, your clients, your facilities, projects youve done, your products, of your company vehicleany images that help personalize your site and show customers what your business is all about. Logo - If you have a custom logo for your business that you would like to use on your site, please send us a high resolution version if that image. About You - Were going to need text content about your business. This could come from a brochure or pamphlet that you already have made, or perhaps from your old website. You can send this to us via Word or Text document, PDF, email, or by directing us to your previous website. If you dont have anything already made, no problem! Just send us a few paragraphs (as much as you want) saying what your business is all about, what services you provide, what experience you have, and anything else you want your customers to know about you Contact Information - Business name, address, phone number(s), fax number, email address(es), hours of operation, etc. Bear in mind that we can embed an interactive Google map onto your website, so directions are not necessary but you may provide them if you wish.

Website Service Agreement Effective Date: ____________________ This Website Service Agreement (the Agreement) is made and entered into as of the Effective Date by and between Own Local, a Texas corporation with offices at 4674 Priem Lane Suite 404, Pflugerville, TX 78660 (Own Local), and ____________________________ (the Client), collectively referred to as the Parties. The Parties agree as follows: 1. SERVICES. Client shall engage Own Local for the design, hosting, and maintenance of its world wide web site (the Site) to be located at the following web address http://www.___________________________________________________ Such services to be described in greater detail below (the Services): A. Design and Development. The initial design and development will be completed to the Client's specifications and shall be completed within 7 business days of the effective date. B. Consultation. Payment not received within twenty-five days of date billed will result in an additional charge of 1.5% per month and in addition the customer is responsible for costs of collection including reasonable attorneys fees incurred in the collection process.

3. TERM. The original term of this Agreement is for 12 months beginning on _________________, 2011 This Agreement will automatically renew for an additional month at the end of each existing term if neither Client nor Own Local receives notification of termination from the other party. A notification of termination must be received by the non-terminating party no less that 30 days before the end of the existing term. 4. CONFIDENTIALITY: Own Local agrees to not disclose to any other person (unless required by law) or use for personal gain any Confidential Information at any time during or after the term of this Agreement. 5. CLIENT REPRESENTATIONS: Client represents and warrants that the text, graphics, and photographs provided to Own Local for the Site are owned or licensed by Client, and that Client is authorized to use and display such items in the manner contemplated by this Agreement. Client shall be solely responsible for the Site and materials on the Site and the validity of copyrights, trademarks and ownership claimed by Client. Client agrees to indemnify and hold Own Local harmless from and against any claim, loss, damage, expense or liability (including attorney's fees and costs) that may result in whole or in part. 6. SEVERABILITY: If any part or parts of this Agreement shall be held unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect. If any court of competent jurisdiction deems any provision of this Agreement invalid or unenforceable, and if limiting such provision would make the provision valid, then such provision shall be deemed to be construed as so limited. 7. GOVERNING LAW: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have caused this Agreement to be executed the Effective Date written above.
