1 Background of Study Bad language can cause some negative effects dealing with the social group. Bad language is used only in informal situation because is rude and impolite language. Thus is not appropriate to use in formal situation and can not be adopted by our culture. On the other hand, bad language is used n some literary work such as novel, drama, song and also movie. There are some reasons of using bad language (1) he feels comfortable when he use bad language to express his feeling. As the example: when the man character says damn in his private room. His expression when he says it, show angry. And when he says shit he showed that he hate his girl who was loved by him. (2) Another reason is he cant use the polite language when he remembers his girlfriend. Whatever, bad language should be used in a certain purpose. Anderson L and Turdgill P, (1990 :4) said Bad language is sound, word and terms that are used with a certain purpose. That may be dangerous to be used. It refers to negative meaning, impolite an inferior among speech community. As the example: when someone uses bad language, the have to know what the purpose that they have been spoke. And has special purpose such as angry or hates someone.
