Discussion points to capture:

• Encourage training leading to certification.

• Stepped levels of support and/or RAM’s commitment of 3 year support to teacher at

beginning of multi year program aims to encourage retention

• Encourage mentorship between teachers.

• Speaker – potential for RAM to arrange for speakers to deliver session to teachers – would
the teachers come? Depends on other sessions being offered (up to 5 competing
alternatives). Would have added benefit of district Montessori teachers being able to
network with each other.

• In order to successfully manage this kind of model – likely need to set a 3 year budget to
follow.

• Discuss accruing unused amounts into next year

Example of budget/cost (using stepped levels)

Year 1 (Budget Year 2 (Budget Year 3 (Budget

10,000) 10,000) 10,000)
Training/course 4 @ $500 = $2000 4 @ $1000 = $4000 4 @ $1500 = $6000
2 @ 500 = $1000 2 @ $1000 = $2000
TOTAL = $5000 2 @ $500 = $1000
Mentorship $2000 $2000 __

Conference/Workshop $2000 $2000 $1000

Speaker $4000 (left over, use $1000 __

part or all)
