LABORATORY REPORT FORMAT

1. TITLE PAGE (COVER PAGE OF LAB REPORT)

(i) Course title, Course code and Section
(ii) Experiment number & title
(iii) Name and ID No. of all the group members
(iv) Date of Laboratory
(v) Date submitted: (leave empty)(will be fill by lecturer upon submitted)
2. AIMS / OBJECTIVE OF THE EXPERIMENT (2nd page)
3. PRECAUTIONS (AT LEASE 3)
4. MEASUREMENTS (DATA)
(i) Put the measurements in table form.
All direct measured quantities must be accompanied by their respective
(ii)
instrumental uncertainties. (base on the equipment used)
(iii) Make sure the readings & answers are put in correct decimal place
(iv) Format of table – please refer to Lab Manual.
5. RESULT / CALCULATIONS
(i) Calculate necessary value needed (show necessary steps)
Write the final result clearly with the unit and the uncertainty.
(ii)
Changes (converts) the final result into S.I. units. *
Calculate the error percentage (error %) of your experimental result by
comparing to the standard value.
(iii) experiment al result − standrad (theoritic al) value
Error % = × 100%
standrad value
If no theory value, calculate the difference percentage (diff %) of two
same result (quantity) found by different method.
(iv) experiment al result −analytical result
Diff % = × 100%
analytical result
6. GRAPH(S) / DIAGRAM(S)
(i) Plot the necessary graph(s) on graph suitable papers. (Portrait)
(ii) Draw the necessary diagram on plan A4 papers.
7. QUESTIONS / ANALYSIS / CALCULATION
(i) Answer all questions
(ii) Base on the instruction on the Lab manual, analyze the experiment.
(iii) Show all the calculations clearly.
8. CONCLUSION
By referring to the aims of the experiment, briefly discuss the theoretical
(i)
part of the experiment
Mention the theoretical prediction of the graph by using the necessary
(ii)
formula, and compare it with the graph obtained experimentally.
Briefly discuss your experimental result by comparing it with the standard
(iii)
value.
(iv) Mention the final result that you obtained (with diff % and unit).
