past five years the number of engineering colleges in India has doubled
making it difficult for companies to shortlist colleges. The way to solve is
through the internet. CoCubes helps colleges get online where all its
students can be visible to a lot of companies and also make it easier for
companies to reach you.

What do you have to do as a student of the registered
college?

• Update your email ID and login with the training and placement
office

• All of you will get a login on www.cocubes.com . The login password

information shall be mailed to you on the email ID given to the
placement office and smsed on your mobile number

• Upload your resume to be eligible for sitting in placements

• Shoot your video profile and upload it on your account (your college
might organize a camp through CoCubes also)

• Start using and sending your online professional link to relevant

companies and friends

Details of Resume Upload by Students

Purpose of the resume

Resume may be used by companies to further shortlist students based on
their particular requirement. So it becomes very important for a student to
spend time on making his resume. The purpose of telling this to colleges
earlier is to ensure that they push students towards making their resume
attractive. A sample resume is also enclosed.

Information Required
The resume may contain the following fields. Students should model their
resume in this fashion.

1. Technical Skills
2. Projects they have worked on
3. Achievements in various fields
a. Academic
b. Sports
c. Cultural
4. Extra Curricular Information
5. Other Information

Students would also be asked to separately enter their interest areas and
areas of expertise which may be used by companies to shortlist students
for a specific profile.

Things to keep in Mind

Companies conduct extensive background checks on each resume.
Students have to ensure that information on resume has to be accurate
and true.

Counseling Manager: June-July 2006
The idea behind the application was to help maintain the data and the information regarding colleges during counseling process
along with information about the availability of the seats in each college. Additional features like updating the data as a student
occupies a seat in the college etc were also built in.
Technologies Used: Front End: VB.Net; Back End: MS SQL (Enterprise Manager).
Text Editor, Mobile Display in C++ May 2006
Worked on a couple of applications, the first one being an editor with features like Append, Insert, Delete etc. The second
application was basic programming for a mobile with start up screen for Security and further handling common features of a basic
model

• Among Top 5 students in Computer Science batch at Institute of Engineering and Technology.
• Represented college in program development competition in Inter College Technical Festival in September 2005 at
GNE. The problem statement revolved around graphical representation of “The Tower of Hanoi”.

Video Profile of Students

Purpose of the video

Companies want to look at more and more information about the student.
Video takes the students directly to the company executives where they
can feel comfortable with whom they are hiring.

Information Required
The following five questions would be asked to the students

1. Tell me something about yourself

2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
3. What are your hobbies and interests?
4. Which achievement are you proud of the most?
5. Where do you see yourself in five years from now?

Also if a student has less than 60%, he should also give answer to the
question

1. Why is your academic performance low?

This would help them explain what was the reason behind low academic
performance and give students with less than 60% a better chance at
getting placed.

Things to keep in Mind

Please encourage students not to give standard answers. Companies
would very easily be able to catch truth and lies and students should
spend some time preparing their own answers.

Also, video size should be kept small by using the correct settings. And
answers to all five questions should be shot in a single video.
