AREA CLOSURE FOR PRESRIBED BURN (NORTH BROWN JUG LOOP)

Hamilton, MT, – The Darby Ranger District on the Bitterroot National Forest is planning another 25-65 acres of
prescribed burning in the Hayes Creek area north of Coyote Coulee TH. A test fire will be conducted today to
see if burning conditions will meet objectives. Trailhead users will see smoke along Trail #511 (ATV trail) that
runs east/west of Blue Jay Lane but users will be allowed access this trail to complete a loop back to Coyote
Coulee TH to the south. Users wishing to continue onto the northern portion of Trail #127 (Brown Jug Loop)
will not be allowed the day of the ignition for safety purposes and for several days after. Smoke may be visible
to homeowners in the Blue Jay Lane, Hayes Creek and North Gold Creek Loop area.
