me how to make soap in
laboratory. The main ingredients
are sodium hydroxide, oil and
sodium chloride. Can you get the

Steps in preparing soap in laboratory.

Part 1: Set up the apparatus.

Step 1 : Wash hands thoroughly.

Step 2 : Put 600 ml of hot water into 750 ml beaker.

Step 3 : Add the anti-bumping stones into the beaker.

Part 2: Heating the mixture.

Step 4 : Then, add 15 ml of oil into 100ml beaker.

Step 5 : Add 15 ml of NaOH.

Step 6 : Add 10 ml of ethanol. Next, add 3 spoon of sodium chloride.

Step 7 : Assemble the heating mantle and clasp in fume cupboard.

Step 8 : Turn on the hotplate and stir the mixture until the temperature not
exceed 95oC.

Step 9 : Heat the mixture for 25 minutes.

Step 10 : Stir the mixture. Then, put the rod glass in test tube contain
water to test the droplet

of fat.
Step 11 : Immersed the soap mixture in ice bath. After a while, pour out
the liquid only.

Part 3: Filtering out the solids.

Step 12 : Wrap filter funnel with cling film.

Step 13 : Turn on the tap and run the vacuum filter

Step 14 : Scoop out the solid soap and the soap is ready.
