Literature Scrapbook Instructions

1. You must begin and finish reading one book over break.
2. Create two Literature Scrapbook pages for the book you choose following the instructions
below.
3. Do your first draft in pencil. Write over it in pen and COLOR in the spaces. Make it
beautiful!
4. Check for complete sentences in all parts.
5. Check for grammar correctness in all parts.
6. SCRAPBOOK PIECES:
a. Write your name neatly under “My Literature Scrapbook”
b. Write the title and author of your book in the banner
c. Illustration of the protagonist (must be a drawing, not a cut-out) in the photo
frame. Write his/her name underneath the picture
d. Describe his/her personality traits next to it
e. Describe the EXPOSITION with specific details about the location and time period
of the book inside the house
f. Track his/her growth as a character in the PROTAGONIST GROWTH CHART – fill in
the protagonist’s name on the blank
i. Explain what the protagonist is like at the beginning of the novel
ii. Explain how the protagonist changes in the middle of the story, as the
conflict develops
iii. Explain how the protagonist has changed at the end of the story, in the
resolution
g. Illustrate the scene that represents the CLIMAX of the book in the snapshot
h. Identify the NARRATION of the book. Explain, briefly, the effects of the narration
on the story
i. Draw a symbol from the story in the frame. In the box to the side, explain what
idea it represents
j. Label a theme in the banner at the bottom of the page – explain it with proof in the
space to the side
