Intro: August 15 1969, on Max Yasgurs

peaceful farm, outside a quaint little town

known as Bethel, about 3 hours north of New
York City. 2 weeks prior to this Friday
afternoon a small committee of members
proposed that Max let them borrow his 600-
acre farm for a relatively small Music and
Art festival, at which 50,000 people were
supposed to attend. Mr. Yasgur agreed due
the compensation he was receiving not
knowing that in 2 weeks there would be over
half a million people showing up to see the
largest concert that has ever been held. Yep…
were talking Woodstock

Closing : Most people think that Woodstock

was just a large meeting of drug addicted
hippies, which in reality it was. But most
don’t understand the true meaning which was
just Peace which they achieved through
 music. This gave a message to the U.S.
Government that it was time for change and
it may of taken a while, but they
responded ,with open minds. As said by the
anarchist writer, Henry David Thoreau, “Go
confidently in the direction of your dreams
Live the life you've always imagined.”
