* Resistance at 75ºC total temperature, based on an ambient of 25ºC plus 50ºC rise due to heating effect of current. The approximate magnitude of
current necessary to produce the 50ºC rise is 75% of the “Approximate Ampacity at 60 Hz.”
** Based on a strand temperature of 125ºC and an ambient of 40ºC; windspeed = 0.60 m/s (per IEEE 738 - June 2003 method of calculation).
*** Based on a strand temperature of 125ºC and an ambient of 25ºC; windspeed = 0.60 m/s (per IEEE 738 - June 2003 method of calculation).

Modulus of Elasticity: Strand, 23,000,000 pounds per sq. inch. Coefficient of Linear Expansion: .000,007,2 per degree Fahrenheit.

Alumoweld® wire and strand should be installed in accordance with present aluminum construction practices. Normal precautions should be followed in stringing
wire and strand to protect the aluminum covering from mechanical damage. The IEEE “Guide to the Installation of Overhead Transmission Line Conductors” (STD 524)
latest edition should be used for the installation of Alumoweld® transmission products.
