In ancient times sulfur was called Genesis.

Sulfur means an abundant tasteless odorless multivalent nonmetallic element;

best known in yellow crystals.
It doesn’t have periodic table it first appeared .
Row and Column
Sulfur is found in period 3 and it is in the column 16.

Physical and Chemical Properties

Sulfur’s physical properties: Sulfur exists in two allotropic

forms. The two forms of sulfur are known as a –form and B-form.
Both of the forms are yellow, a-form is a brighter yellow and the
B-form is whitish yellow.
The chemical properties is that it burns. When it does burns, it
gives off a pale blue flame and sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas. Sulfur
dioxide has chocking odor.
Important Compounds

Sulfur forms compounds in oxidation states -2 (sulfide, S2-) ,

+4(sulfite, SO32-),and +6(sulfate,SO42-).
It combines with nearly all elements. An unusual feature of some
sulfur compounds results from the fact that sulfur is second only to
carbon in exhibiting catenation.
Garlic gets its smell from sulfur compounds.
Sources and location

Sulfur can also be found in hot springs , volcanoes and many

minerals.
Sulfur is commercially recovered from wells sunk into the salt
