About the Department
Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing
Engineering: Established in the year 1960 is celebrating
its Golden Jubilee this year. During its sojourn, the
department has grown from strength to strength, and
has become one of the most sought after departments
for admission at both UG and PG levels. The Department
faculty members consists of erudite teachers who are
constantly engaged in undertaking research work of
original nature and have subsequent publications in
various national and international journals of repute. The
department has active Industry-Institute interaction and
has conducted several short courses for working
professionals from industry. Faculty members are keenly
involved in research and consultancy in addition to
regular academic work.
The department is proud to have developed full fledged
infrastructural facilities to impart quality education in the
domain of Mechanical Engineering Sciences and has
been able to achieve close to 100% placement for its
eligible students. The department is also constantly
encouraging its students to venture out and make live
projects. One such example is Student Formula Car, for
which a 24X7 fully dedicated student project workshop
is established. The students have successfully
demonstrated the Formula car for the last three years at
various International events.
Objectives of the Conference
In the present era of globalization the competitive
products require key ingredients such as innovative
designs, rapid product development, manufacturing
economy, quality assurance and reliability. To achieve
this goal it is important to develop and use innovative
ideas, materials, automated tools/techniques in
designs and simplified processes. In recent times,
rapid developments are taking place in the fields of
Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Biomedical,
Manufacturing etc. Hence the main objective of this
conference is to bring the academicians, professional
