The Form S-583 is a snowmobile application and description cata log printed to aid
and assist service personnel.
o
The first portion is an application section listing the carburetors and the snowmob ile
equipment in manufacturer order.

The second section is a carburetor description section listing all the HD and HR Til-
lotson carburetors in numerical order, giving a brief description of each .

A cross reference is used between the two sections for carburetor interchange. Look
up the manufacturer, model snowmobile and the engine size in the application
section and find the correct carburetor model. By turning to the description
section under the proper carburetor model find a sim ilar model carburetor (No.3)
that comes closest to the description of the present carburetor .

Because of different hook-ups being required for each particular model snowmobiles,
certain hook-up modifications may have to be made. Carburetors are listed as being
"similar to" from the standpoint of the metering systems being the same. Therefore,
the choke and throttle hook-ups may not be.

NOTE: Interchange list of snowmobile carburetors to assist service personnel.

Carburetors are listed as being "similar to" from the stand point of the metering
systems being the same. Therefore, the choke and throttle hook-ups may not be.

Replacing a carburetor without a recirculator with a carburetor with a recirculator,

a recirculator fuel line must be insta.l led from the carburetor to the fuel tank.
In the reverse case, the recirculator line should be removed.

The main fuel jet is a fixed jet with an adjustable screw, a fixed orifice with a
replaceable jet or an adjustable screw with a replaceable jet.
