I am writing to thank you for your contribution to protecting voters in the congressional midterm and
state elections earlier this month, and for your ongoing efforts to promote and protect the vote. Indeed,
many of us continued our commitment in post-election canvassing and recount efforts across the
country. And, some of us are still working earnestly in remaining elections to be decided in states such
as California, Minnesota and New York.
Admittedly, some of the candidates we supported did not fare well. However, we have much to
celebrate. This year, we numbered over 10,000. We organized and volunteer-staffed a national call
center that assisted thousands of voters across the country. We tracked and resolved nearly 6,000 voting
rights incidents in 29 states that participated in our incident tracking program. We can now use this data
to identify and address likely voter protection issues long before elections in the fall of 2011 and 2012.
Put simply, we could not have accomplished so much without you. Thank you.
