Addictive personalities

Nowadays there´s a lot of people who get involved with the different kinds of
addictions such as the internet, drugs, alcohol, sex, greed, to mention some…

Let´s begin explaining one by one, what they mean is:

Internet: It was born in 1969 when the first computer connection was
established, known as ARPANET. It allows an easier worldwide
communication through networking. Thanks to globalization this tool has
become more popular. But on the other hand, it´s popularity has become an
addiction to some. Scientific studies have detected that some people spend
less than 20 unnecessary hours per day, using this amazing tool.
Drugs: are a problem that creates chemical dependencies that affect the
central nervous system and brain functions that cause change in behavior,
perception, and emotions. Drugs are highly addictive that´s why there are so
many people getting involved into this issue.

According to the definition and effects of Pharmacodependency:

“…The effects of drugs vary widely, depending on the type of drug and the amount
or frequency with which it is consumed. They can produce hallucinations, intensify
or dull the senses or induce feelings of euphoria or despair. The consumer needs
to consume some substances to achieve certain pleasurable feelings or to
eliminate unpleasant sensations resulting from the deprivation of the substance…”

Alcohol: Alcoholism is a disease that involves people having a strong need


for alcoholic beverages, making them a physical dependence. Alcohol is as
highly addictive as drugs.
Sex: There is much pathology of the physiological behaviors related with
having sex. Nowadays, in our corrupt world, there exist a lot of morbid
people who are looking for someone to satisfy their needs. It is considered
as a mental disorder. That is why there are so much rape and incest around
the world.
Greed: It´s a behavior which is related with getting money, and power into
the different kinds of societies. It is one of biggest addictions in which the
people get involved with. The desire for more.

It´s very important to realize that we can have fun without doing anything
unhealthy that might damage ourselves or our families. Every extreme is bad.
We need to find our limit.
