A group of Summerfield men exploring Waldorf Education and Fathering more
deeply through:
- Study, Discussion, Personal Sharing
- Movement Exercises
- Artistic Activity
This has been an ongoing group of 15‐20 fathers meeting every other Saturday morning for
the past two school years. We anticipate 6‐8 openings for new participants, as the group
will close with 20 registrations.
Beginning Saturday, September 25, 2010, Roland Baril, Summerfield’s Lower School
Coordinator, will lead a study group for Fathers of Summerfield children. The study group
sessions will endeavor to:
• Provide a forum for questions about our role as parents, and specifically as fathers
• Highlight the importance of the father’s role in their child’s education
• Offer tools for being a conscious father, through a better understanding of
developmental phases
• Strengthen the connection with the school community by establishing and deepening
friendships.
• Increase understanding and appreciation of Waldorf movement and artistic activities to
strengthen a father’s connection to his child’s educational experience, and to simply
enjoy the fun of playing and moving together.
These group sessions will be dynamic, informative meetings that will encourage sharing of
experiences, as members work together to strengthen their parenting skills through
enhanced knowledge of Rudolph Steiner’s insights into child development.
