P: Hello, doctor.
D: Hello. What is the problem?
P: Dr I do not feel good. My stomach hurts so much. The pain began two
months ago.
D: What do you feel?
P: I feel a sharp pain that persists. After every meal I feel a burning in my
chest which pain persists even during the night
D: Tell me if in the last two months have you eaten fat food or something
different?
P: No
D: There are certain foods, which affects you more?
P: Yes, foods that contain large amounts of fat.
D: Apart from the pain, you said that you have heartburn?
P: Yes, I feel a sour taste in my mouth.
D Besides fat food, there are other types of food that irritates your stomach?
Like spicy food?
P: No, I do not eat spicy food.
D: Tell me how often do you have a seat?
P: It is regular.
D: Have you noticed any change in the consistency of the seat?
P: Yes, it is a bit softer.
D: OK. What we can do is to check first the abdomen to see where the pain
comes.
D: Have you had vomiting and nausea during this period ?
P: Yes
D: What medications do you usually take when you have stomach pain?
P: Sometimes I take Maalox or dicarbocalm.
D: OK. As I said, I would like to examine you .I want first to examine the
faeces to check if you have parasites. Did you come from tropics recently or
did you traveled anywhere during this period?
P: Yes, I was in Africa.
D: Here, in Romania and other countries, parasites can be found. These may
affect the stomach. I would also like to examine your upper gastrointestinal
system by X-ray, it is a very simple procedure and it does not hurt. You
drink a thick substance. The radiologist will see how you digest the
substance and he can see the landscape changes of your mucosa. For the
moment do not eat fat foods. It's good when you eat to chew very well the
food. Have a balanced diet which includes chicken, vegetables, fruits, dairy
products, but without making too much of these foods. Avoid eating very
hot or very cold.
As soon as I receive the medical results I will call you to discuss about them
P: Thank you.
D: Okay. See you next week. Goodbye
P: Goodbye.
