Unit Sales – Where Is The $35 Laptop?

The laptops are given to students, similar to school

uniforms and ultimately remain the property of the child.
This is a great initiative and hopefully all states will start
participating thus helping all children in India to possess a
laptop.

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Sciences (IIS) in

Bangalore and IIT Madras are designing laptop for students
which would cost about Rs 4,000. This initiative is part of of a
special project to encourage technology-enabled education
by the Human Resource Development Ministry.
