What is grammar (form) in this course
•Finite set of rules, generate infinite nos. of sentces in lg
•The rules relate meanings, which are represented by a
deep structure, to present sds or written symbols.
• describe native speaker’s competence, his internalization
of these rules rather than performance.
•State explicitly and formally the rules, native speaker’s
