Haptic Camera Instruction Manual and Tips

Notes

• After removing parts from the printer, make sure to deburr edges of interfacing parts with a
small file
• each print is different, so you may need to file down pegs to fit into holes

• Start with the Nano17 Force/

Torque Sensor

• The Nano17 Force/Torque Sensor

has two 2 mm slots and three M2,
0.4 mm pitch holes on each end
• Take the toolmount, and insert into
the Nano17, lining up the pegs

• Inset three 4 mm M2 screws

• Matching up the single peg, slide

small shell down until flush with
Nano17
• Similarly, matching up the single
peg of the extended shell, slide
second half down until flush with
Nano17

• Screw three 4 mm 0.4 mm

screws, securing the shell to the
Nano17

• Line up pegs from shell with holes in

cage, allowing Nano17 wire to rest
in the wire channel. The Force
Sensing Resistor (FSR) lies flat in
the large channel.
• snap cage and shell together with
two pegs

• take these two pieces, and press together, so piece are flush

• insert the thumb button into the track of

the cage. However, if the heat-shrink or
wires from the FSR sensor is too big, the
button will not fit over the wires. To get
around this, simply place the FSR and
thumb button into the channel at the
same time, to avoid needing to slide the
puck over the thick wires
Force Sensing Resistor

• slide button to the end of the

channel

• Slide channel-filler into channel,

over FSR wires

• slide until flush with back of cage

• Insert accelerometer into slot in the
channel behind the filler

• push accelerometer down until

resting against backstop of filler.
• take the Ascension Trakstar Model 800 sensor, and insert into the key, sliding up as shown.
• note that the Model 180 also has a designated location in this part, though there is a second
key for just the Model 180 (see last page)

• press sensor into cage, behind the

filler. Simultaneously align pegs from
extended shell and the cage with the
holes in the key.
• Note the second key, with only one
hole sized for the Model 180 sensor.
