According to the National Rall Conditions of Carriage it is the passenger's responsibilty to
ensure they are in possession of a valid ticket for thelr entire journey before Joining the train
(where the facility for ticket purchase exists at the station of arigin). A cony of the National
Rail Conditions of Carriage may be obtained direct from the Train Company, or downloaded
from the National Rail website at Nationalrail,co.uk.
Unfortunately, this office Is unable to consider the complaint outlined in your appeal with
regard ta your railrard heing defaced and confiscated. We have no authorisation to
Investigate your claims and therefore our original decision stands.
However, we are unable to deal with your Unpaid Fare appeal on behalf of Cross Country, we
strongly Suggest that you write Lo ther auvisiny Ual your appeal wes unsuccessful arid
request that they now look at the circumstances that led to the issue of the notice.
In the meantime, the amount of £45.00 needs to be paid in full to avoid any administration
charges being applied. Please ensure payment is made no later than 17 August 2010.
