Chapter 29

Of Baptism and the Lord's Supper

1. Baptism and the Lord's Supper, are ordinances of positive and sovereign
institution, appointed by the Lord Jesus, the only Law giver, to be continued
in His church to the end of the world.

Matthew And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven
28:18 and in earth.
Matthew Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
28:19 of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I
28:20 am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I Corinthians For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death
11:26 till he come.

2. These holy appointments are to be administered by those only, who are

qualified, and thereunto called according to the commission of Christ.

Amen.

I Corinthians Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the
4:1 mysteries of God.
