Course Title: Community Health Nursing

Course Description: Focuses on the community as a client and on community


health promotion. It deals with the concepts of Primary Health, Philippine
Health Care Delivery Systems objectives, programs and strategies. Also
includes application of community health nursing process, prevention and
simple interventions of common health problems.

Course Objectives: Upon the completion of this course, students will be able
to:
1. Describe the Philippine Health Care Delivery System.
2. Apply systematic nursing process in the community.
3. Apply the nursing process in relation to special
populations, vulnerable populations, and risk behaviors.
4. Discuss Reproductive Health and Maternal and Child
health.
5. Familiarize with Philippine health care strategies.
6. Discuss importance of Immunization, Family Planning and
Proper Nutrition
7. Discuss common communicable diseases and carry out
nursing interventions readily available in the community.
8. Develop community health care plan and carry out nursing
process for health promotion.
